New Bicyclist and Pedestrian Safety Committee

The Augusta City Council formally created the Bicyclist and Pedestrian Safety Committee in 2022! In 2023, local citizens were appointed by the Mayor.

The goal is to develop and adopt policies and programs to promote

bicyclist and pedestrian safety on its roadways. The Committee is charged with reporting to the City Council our progress toward goals outlined in the 2019 Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety

Plan and the state of bicyclist and pedestrian safety in the City. The

quarterly reports may contain proposed changes to City policies or the City Code for the City

Council’s consideration. Read the full ordinance here.

The Committee's meetings are public. Check the website for meeting dates and times!
